《飞屋环游记=Up(迪士尼英文原版)》读后感100字
Up
— Let go, and move on
Never mind that this is an animated kids movie. It is more than a cartoon but a philosophical narrative that entertains and educates, seamlessly melding deep sentiments and thrilling adventure into a classic Disney tale about letting go of the past and embracing the moment.
Having watched the movie long time ago, I found it easy to read through the book. As I read, vivid images kept springing up into my mind. The tale starts with the pursuit of a dream about adventure shared by a loving pair named Carl and Ellie. The couple of childhood sweethearts keep tossing their spare change into a jar, with an earnest intention to finance their trip to the legendary Paradise Falls. But real life is never that easy and is always in the way. Until Ellie’s death, their dream has not come true. Ellie’s death deeplysentimentalizes old man Carl and he becomes hardly really living, but holding stagnant in a state of self reclusion and deep sorrow. Bearing in mind his promise to Ellie, he decides to suspend his house (the clubhouse is the carrier of his love for Ellie) from thousands of balloons and fulfill their dream of seeking Paradise Falls. A dutiful Wilderness Explorer Scout named Russell inadvertently joins the adventure and invigorates the journey. Struggling with his house, the balloons and his grief, Carl had a thrilling adventure accompanied by a loyal dog, a giant bird and others. During the adventure, Carl gradually relieves himself from grief over Ellie’s death.
Its always easy to get caught up in the sorrow of losing a loved one and refuse to move on. On the last page of Ellie’s scrapbook, there is a note from Ellie— Thanks for the adventure. Now go out and get a new one! I think Ellie is indicating that her trivial life with Carl is itself an adventure and one should let go the past and move on with sense of adventure. The moment when Carl chooses to throw out the stuffs inside the house for saving his friends’ dear lives, I think it is also symbolizing that Carl hasrealized that he should let go of the past and cherish the living moment and beloved ones. That’s the true spirit of adventure in life.
“There is only one heroism in the world: to see the world as it is and to love it.” (ByRomain Rolland)
Life is not an adventure about dreaming; it is in nature a safari about trifles with sense of adventure. The boring stuff may be remembered the most.
