《中国妇女发展与性别平等:历史、现实、挑战》是2011年中国妇女研究会年会暨“新时期中国妇女发展与性别平等：理论、现状、挑战”研讨会的论文辑录。《中国妇女发展与性别平等:历史、现实、挑战》从不同视角对中国妇女运动历史经验中国特色社会主义妇女理论的重点问题社会管理与服务中的女性参与女性人才成长的政策推动女性就业与社会保障以及婚姻家庭、性别文化与大众传媒领域的妇女发展问题进行了讨论对深化中国特色社会主义妇女理论研究促进妇女发展和性别平等相关重大理论和现实问题研究推动新时期中国妇女运动的创新发展都有重要意义。

谭琳，西安交通大学人口与经济研究所工学博士，中国全国妇联妇女研究所所长，兼任南开大学人口学专业教授、博士生导师。
